Aleksandra Kucharska-Cybuch is a Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts alumnus with an additional postgraduate degree in stage design. Among her college professors were fine Polish artists such as Jerzy Skarżyński, Lidia Skarżyńska, Kazimierz Wiśniak and Wojciech Krakowski. Her work includes stage design, paintings, illustrations and graphics, which have been frequently displayed at group exhibitions in Poland (e.g. Slovak Institute in Warsaw) and abroad (e.g. Humlebaek in Denmark). She has also had individual exhibitions at the Embassies of the Republic of Poland in The Hague, Amsterdam, Maastricht, the Polish Institute in Bratislava and a famous Polish museum „Kuncewiczówka” in Kazimierz Dolny. She has participated several times in Biennial of Illustration Bratislava, recently in the jubilee 25th Biennale in 2015, and Biennial of Book Illustration in Japan. The list of her book illustrations includes near 40 children's books, a ten-volume series of Polish poet-priest Jan Twardowski, many editions of Andersen's and Grimm's fairy tales, Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol and E. T. A. Hoffman's The Nutcracker and the Mouse King. She has also created covers for the Polish editions of books by J. L. Borges, M. Bulgakov and L. M. Montgomery's Anne of Green Gables series. She collaborates with a number of Polish publishing companies, such as Media Rodzina, Ezop, BIS, Eurograf, Bajka, Prószyński i S-ka, Wydawnictwo „M”, Wydawnictwo Literackie and many others.
